Nevada State Museum
The Nevada State Museum is located at 600 N Carson St, Carson City, NV 89701. It is one of seven state museums in Nevada. It is operated by the Department of Cultural Affairs, part of the Nevada Department of Tourism. The museum is housed in a former Carson City Mint building. It features exhibits on Nevada’s history and culture.
Besides the main gallery, the museum also features a research library, gift shop, lecture rooms, banquet hall, and an outdoor balcony. It has both rotating and permanent exhibits. It offers a wide range of art. In addition, it hosts art events, including lectures, conferences, and exhibitions.

The Nevada State Museum features two separate wings. One wing features an exhibit devoted to Native Americans. The Under One Sky exhibit, located in the new wing, tells the story of the state’s first inhabitants. It features a reconstruction of a Great Basin cave and exhibits of various Native tribes. The museum also includes a timeline on Nevada history.
The Nevada State Museum has recently announced the appointment of Josh Bonde as its new director. He succeeds Myron Freedman as director of the museum, who was appointed administrator of the Nevada Division of Museums and History. Bonde is a native Nevadan and a member of the Te-Moak Tribe of Western Shoshone. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Nevada, Reno. He went on to earn a Master of Science in Earth Sciences from Montana State University. Lastly, he earned his Ph.D. in Geoscience at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
The Nevada State Museum is located in Carson City, where there are a number of great museums. A visit to the museum is free and open to the public. The museum is located inside an active fire station. It is open Monday through Friday. During the day, six fire engines are exhibited.
